3600 days ago
Skip to recipeChickpeas, garbanzo beans or ceci beans, no matter what you call these legumes, their uses are as diverse as their name.
Their nutlike flavor blends well with Mediterranean, Middle Eastern or Indian flavors and better yet, you can eat chickpeas hot or cold. They're not just salad-toppers.
Here are five versatile ways to use them:
1. Try them seasoned and roasted.
2. Puree into a creamy hummus.
3. Toss into soups, like pasta fagioli or minestrone.
4. Make a chickpea burger.
5. Instead of tossing them onto a salad, make them the salad – like this Mediterranean Chickpea Salad.
