How to chiffonade (shred) fresh basil

This method also works for other large leaf herbs.

Stack basil leaves one on top of the other.

Tightly roll the stacked leaves.

Firmly holding the roll, cut thin strips.

Alternate method: Instead of using a knife, use Super Shears (kitchen shears) to cut strips from the rolled basil.
