- 12 inch loaf of Italian bread
- 1 pound thinly sliced roast turkey
- 1 pound thinly sliced ham
- 10 slices cooked bacon
- 3 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
- 8 slices fresh tomatoes, drained and
- seasoned with salt
- 3/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped chives
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon EACH finely grated lemon zest and lemon juice
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Directions
- In a small bowl combine the mayonnaise, chives, olive oil, lemon zest and lemon juice. Salt and pepper to taste.
- Slice the Italian bread in half lengthwise. With cut sides up, spread the herb mayonnaise on both pieces.
- Layer the bottom with the roast turkey, ham, bacon, iceberg lettuce and tomatoes. Salt and pepper to taste.
- Top with the other slice of bread, slice into individual portions, insert a toothpick into each portion and serve.
