The Cutco Slow Cooker Challenge

We love to cook at Cutco. It's not unusual to see people in various departments bringing in dishes to pass or hosting a luncheon or cookout.

This past Monday, employees from our accounting, accounts receivable and IT departments took it a step further, going head-to-head in a slow cooker competition. The contest required that participants use at least two Cutco products to make their dish.

There were soups, casseroles, dips and even a dessert, all made in a slow cooker. The dishes were judged by a discerning crowd of co-workers.

The winner of the challenge was Cathy Hanmann who works in our accounts receivable department. She won with her Slow Cooker Kielbasa and Pineapple recipe. She used the Santoku-Style Trimmer to slice the kielbasa and the slotted spoon to stir and serve the dish.

Cathy got this recipe from a friend but gave it her own touch by adding a dash or two of crushed red pepper. She says the key is to cook it a long time so the flavors really blend into the sausage and pineapple. In fact, she cooked it for a full day.

Another variation is to include onions and peppers. Cathy says this recipe is great on its own as an appetizer or over rice as a main dish.

What's your go-to slow cooker favorite?
