Dessert Pizza

I made this Dessert Pizza recipe for a football tailgate party a long time ago. I used the combination of cinnamon sugar toast with a layer of Nutella® spread and topped it with fruit. I think you will find that it is a delicious sweet dessert that’s hard to resist.
It is an easy recipe to change up. You can add different fruits or peanut butter, or use cream cheese instead of the hazelnut spread. Because it’s so easy to make, you can also accommodate different food preferences on one pizza by using different ingredients on different halves.
Cutting the Fruit
Most of the prep work is tied to cutting the fruit. For this recipe I used sliced strawberries and bananas. For the strawberries I used Cutco’s Santoku-Style 3″ Paring Knife. I like its lower-profile tip, which is a little like a sheep’s foot paring knife.
The same knife can be used to slice the bananas. The blade length is a good size for working with both strawberries and bananas.
While these are the fruits I picked this time for this Dessert Pizza, remember you can use whatever fruit you think would taste good. Blueberries come to mind.
Putting It Together
Spread a refrigerated pizza dough out onto a baking sheet and bake at 375 F for about five minutes. Remove it from the oven, brush on some melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar before placing back in the oven to bake for another five minutes.
Remove from the oven and use a Spatula Spreader to spread the hazelnut topping on the warm pizza.
Top the pizza with the fruit and cut into pieces using a Pizza Cutter to serve.
There are a lot of flavors in this recipe. It is definitely sweet and something you would have as a dessert. The cinnamon really comes through with each bite, but is not overpowering.
