Roasted Broccoli With Asiago

Broccoli is a fantastic vegetable, but boiling or microwaving it isn’t always the most appealing. Serving it raw can also be difficult to chew and the taste can be a little strong for some people. So, if you’re looking for a way to transform it into a tasty side dish, this recipe for Roasted Broccoli With Asiago is a good one.
When you roast almost any vegetable is takes on a much deeper flavor but in a way that’s enjoyable. It gets kind of crispy and the texture changes a little bit, making it much more palatable.
Having just six ingredients, this roasted broccoli recipe is simple to make.
Ingredient Prep
With a good, sharp knife, removing florets from a head of broccoli takes no time at all. The sharp, durable blade of Cutco’s Gourmet Prep Knife easily cuts through the firm stems without wavering.
The recipe calls for slices of lemon for a garnish, but feel free to squeeze some of the juice on top to add a bit of brightness. Lemon goes well with broccoli and Cutco’s Trimmer is a really great citrus knife for slicing it.
Now that the cutting is done, it’s time to put it all together.
Roasting and Serving
Place the florets on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet and coat them with cooking oil spray. Typically when I roast any vegetable I usually just use cooking spray to save a little on calories and avoid adding a ton of extra fat and oil.
Combine some Italian seasoning and garlic salt. Sprinkle the broccoli with the blended seasoning and toss to mix well. Roast in a hot 450 F oven for about 25 minutes.
Add the hot broccoli to a bowl and then add the Asiago cheese. Mix them together with a Basting Spoon to combine and it's ready to serve.
Asiago is a little bit of a strong cheese, but that’s why I like it for this recipe because it adds to the flavor profile. If someone isn’t a big cheese fan you could serve it on the side.
With very simple ingredients this Roasted Broccoli With Asiago recipe is a great one for when you need a quick vegetable side dish. Even people who don’t like broccoli might enjoy it.
