Strawberry Salsa

Here is a recipe that will be the talk of the party. Strawberry Salsa is a unique way of serving fruit. It’s not a salad or a side dish but something completely unique.
A friend of mine brought something similar to this to a gathering and I asked her to send me the recipe. My version, however, is a little more healthful, since hers had a lot more sugar in it.
Cutting the Fruit
The recipe calls not just for diced strawberries, but diced kiwis and apples, and some raspberries.
As unique as this recipe is, you might also find there is a unique knife that’s great for dicing the kiwi. Cutco’s Mini Cheese Knife matches the size of the fruit, making it easy to cut it into salsa-size pieces.
For tips on how to cut a kiwi, check out Cutco's easy tutorial.
For dicing the apples, the 5″ Petite Santoku works great. Cut the apples into roughly the same size pieces as the kiwi.
For the strawberries, the Santoku-Style 3″ Paring Knife is a good dicing knife. Again, cut them to about the same size as the kiwi and apples.
Fresh raspberries are also tossed in, bringing more color and flavor to the salsa.
To add to the fresh taste, julienne some fresh mint. Be sure to use a sharp knife for this process because a dull knife could bruise the mint. Cutco’s 5″ Petite Santoku will cut cleanly through.
Making and Serving
Once the ingredients are prepped, toss them all together, minus the mint, and let the salsa chill for at least 15 minutes. Garnish with the mint when ready to serve. It is worth noting that it actually gets better as it sits, so consider giving it ample chill time.
There are many nuances about this Strawberry Salsa. You could serve it with tortilla chips or pretzels for a yummy sweet and salty combo. Or, lean into the sweet and serve it with vanilla wafers or other cookies. A great way to repurpose the salsa is to use it on fish or chicken.
I like to be the person that brings something to a party that nobody has had before and something they request the recipe for. This recipe is it.
